چکیده

Chameleon signatures simultaneously provide the properties of nonrepudiation and non-transferability for the signed message. However, the initial constructions of chameleon signatures suffer from the problem of key exposure. This creates a strong disincentive for the recipient to forge signatures, partially undermining the concept of non-transferability. Recently, some specific constructions of discrete logarithm based chameleon hashing and signatures without key exposure are presented, while in the setting of gap Diffile-Hellman groups with pairings. In this paper, we propose the first key-exposure free chameleon hash and signature scheme based on discrete logarithm systems, without using the gap DiffileHellman groups. This provides more flexible constructions of efficient key-exposure free chameleon hash and signature schemes. Moreover, one distinguishing advantage of the resulting chameleon signature scheme is that the property of “message hiding” or “message recovery” can be achieved freely by the signer, i.e., the signer can efficiently prove which message was the original one if he desires.

Identity-based chameleon hashing and signatures without key exposure

The notion of chameleon hash function without key exposure plays an important role in designing secure chameleon signatures. However, all of the existing keyexposure free chameleon hash schemes are presented in the setting of certificatebased systems. In 2004, Ateniese and de Medeiros questioned whether there is an efficient construction for identity-based chameleon hashing without key exposure...

On the Key Exposure Problem in Chameleon Hashes

Chameleon signatures were introduced by Krawczyk and Rabin, being non-interactive signature schemes that provide non-transferability. However, that first construction employs a chameleon hash that suffers from a key exposure problem: The non-transferability property requires willingness of the recipient in consequentially exposing a secret key, and therefore invalidating all signatures issued t...

Chameleon Hashing and Signatures

We introduce chameleon signatures that provide with an undeniable commitment of the signer to the contents of the signed document (as regular digital signatures do) but, at the same time, do not allow the recipient of the signature to disclose the contents of the signed information to any third party without the signer's consent. These signatures are closely related to \undeniable signatures", ...

Chameleon Hashing Without Key Exposure

Chameleon signatures are based on well established hashand-sign paradigm, where a chameleon hash function is used to compute the cryptographic message digest. Chameleon signatures simultaneously provide the properties of non-repudiation and non-transferability for the signed message, i.e., the designated recipient is capable of verifying the validity of the signature, but cannot disclose the co...
